Description

This mint julep mocktail is made with maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, vanilla, and a generous handful of fresh mint. Complex, refreshing, and ready in minutes.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2-3 sprigs of fresh mint
  • 1 ounce apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 ounce maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • crushed ice
  • 4-6 ounces club soda

Instructions

  1. Place 1-2 sprigs of mint in the bottom of a glass. Use a muddler or the bottom of a heavy wooden spoon to lightly bruise the leaves.
  2. Add the apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
  3. Fill the glass with ice and top off with club soda. Gently stir it again to incorporate.
  4. Whack another sprig of mint over the glass to release its oils, stick it into the glass as a garnish, and serve the mint mocktail with a straw.

Notes

A gentle, brief muddle is all the mint needs to release its oils and flavor.
